Hrisko successfully defended his dissertation on November 13th, 2020, in a virtual presentation to The City College of New York, Grove School of Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Department. Joshua’s dissertation was entitled ‘Toward closing the Urban Surface Energy Balance Using Satellite Remote Sensing.’

Adrian Diaz-Fortich Successfully Defends Thesis to Become Second NOAA CESSRST Fellow to Complete PhD

Posted on August 12, 2020 Adrian Diaz-Fortich successfully defended his doctoral thesis on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, to become the second NOAA CESSRST fellow to earn his PhD in 2020 as well as the second to present his defense remotely due to restrictions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

Andrea Gomez Successfully Defends Thesis to Become First NOAA CESSRST Fellow to Complete PhD

Posted on April 9, 2020 Andrea Gomez successfully defended her doctoral thesis Wednesday, April 1, to become the first NOAA CESSRST Fellow to earn her PhD and, because of the coronavirus pandemic, the first candidate to present her defense remotely. Dr. Gomez is a Cohort I NOAA EPP funded graduate fellow of the Center for Earth System Sciences and Remote Sensing Technology (CESSRST). She is based at The City College of New York, and she will receive her degree from the Graduate Center, CUNY, in Earth & Environmental Science. NOAA CESSRST is a NOAA EPP/MSI funded program under award NA16SEC4810008.

Andrea Gomez ready to present her thesis defense remotely because The City College of New York and other CUNY campuses were closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. She is the first NOAA CESSRST Fellow to complete the PhD.
