"I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in mechanical engineering at the City College of New York where I am being supported by the EPP/MSI Center graduate fellowship under the NOAA Cooperative Agreement #NA16SEC4810008. My two central research focuses include, improving urban weather forecasts and downscaling Land Surface Temperature (LST) from remote sensing products like the GOES-16 satellite. In my career I have had the opportunity to intern at two renown institutions including NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and John Deere. As an intern at NASA JPL, I helped develop supervised learning models to fuse LST data from the high spatial resolution ECOSTRESS sensor and the high temporal resolution GOES-16 satellite resulting in a high spatiotemporal LST dataset. At John Deere I served as a product engineering Intern working on projects to develop and design new components for large production class 4 wheeled drive loaders. I have demonstrated experiences in solving a variety of complex problems that can be applied in any academic or professional setting. I hope to further my long-term career goal as a researcher and work for a federal institution like NOAA, NASA, or any federally funded research and development centers." - H. Gamarro
