NOAA Mission-Related Career Opportunities for EPP/MSI Students and Early Career Professionals

CESSRST-NOAA Mission Oriented Professional Development Workshop/Seminar Series.

This new initiative is a collaboration between NOAA CESSRST and NOAA/National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Service (NESDIS). Its objective is to create awareness about the NOAA/NESDIS mission and help create potential NOAA mentorship/internship/collaborative opportunities for EPP/MSI CSC students particularly the CESSRST students. During this interactive workshop/seminar series, NOAA/NESDIS professionals (federal and affiliates) will share experiences from their professional journey at NOAA and the potential opportunities for current students and recent graduates. 

The first event of the series will kick off on December 2, 2021, and below are the important details: 

Title: NOAA/NESDIS Mission-Related Career Opportunities for EPP/MSI Students and Early Career Professionals

Abstract: During this workshop/seminar kick-off event, NOAA/NESDIS professionals will provide interactive workshop/seminar session describing work each NOAA/NESDIS program does, the career path they’ve experienced at NOAA, and the type of jobs they’re looking to hire for (federal, affiliate/support positions, and potential internships). The interactive session will feature up to two NOAA/NESDIS programs at a time (OSPO, GOES-R) and will open the door for students to express interest during/after the seminar for a potential mentorship to be cultivated.

  • Tim Walsh, Deputy Director of NOAA’s Office of Satellite and Product Operations, 
  • Ellen Ramirez, Physical Scientist at NOAA and Acting Deputy of Mission Operations Division at NOAA/NESDIS
  • Pamela Sullivan, System Program Director for the GOES-R Series Program
