Dr. Tarendra Lakhankar Receives the Prestigious 2022 CCNY President’s S.T.A.R. Award

Dr. Heyman has conducted over forty years of research on the U.S.-Mexico border. His focus includes human-environmental relations, initially water sustainability, and recently heat resilience and risk. All are in a binational, culturally complex, and highly mobile social context. He is the author or editor of five scholarly books and over 140 scholarly articles and book chapters. He has applied anthropology, including collaborating with the City of El Paso on heat issues, and three years on the board of directors, Society for Applied Anthropology.
