Research Title: Use of NOAA PROduct Validation System (NPROVS) to Support the Derivation and Assessment of Dynamic Forecast Indices at the GCOS Reference Upper Air Network Site

Research Synopsis: The overall purpose of my research is to ascertain the usability of Satellite derived atmospheric thermodynamic in forecasting severe weather.

I am currently working with CALIPSO LIDAR data over Barrow, Alaska in order to study clouds and aerosols, as well as comparing that data to ground instruments located at Barrow. Some other instruments that I am incorporating include AERI, HSRL, and Vaisala Ceilometers, all of which show.
