Research Title: The Correlation Between Rainfall Events and Sewage Overflow in the East Baltimore Region

Research Synopsis: This project will investigate how rainfall events of varying severity throughout the year impact the frequency and amount of sewage overflow in the east Baltimore region. It is also essential to take into consideration the causes and effects of heavy rainfall, like climate change, and sewage overflow that is also related to deteriorating infrastructure in Baltimore City. By using GIS mapping tools and programming skills, I will analyze the prevalence of rainfall in the east Baltimore region to understand its correlation to sewage overflow and what ramifications these ecological and economic issues have on the Baltimore region.
