Research Title: Risk Communication of Tropical Cyclones

Research Synopsis: In this research, the effectiveness of risk communication on the island will be evaluated, especially regarding the exposure of tropical cyclones. We want to know how this communication induces action and mitigation on the part of citizens or the general public. For this, semi-structured interviews will be conducted at the level of Community-Individual, Communicators, and NWS-NOAA scientists. Also, it is envisioned to impact a community that has been very affected by Hurricane Maria (2017), and offer workshops and social learning activities.
