Research Title: Impacts of drought in the Northeast United State

Research Synopsis: Examine impacts of drought over recent decades using NOAA and Drought Monitor data. Quantify the association between different severities and lengths of meteorological drought, on the one hand, with socioeconomic impacts, on the other. This work will help clarify risks from drought in the region to different economic sectors and could provide the basis for an early warning system.
